Today is another early release day, and I never know what to do. There never seems to be enough hours and now, we give up two! We are really pressed for time and you have so much that must be done. And, before you know it, it will be a quarter to one. You have to visit with your friends. You have to search through your back pack (what you're looking for, I never know. Perhaps ways to annoy Mr. Mac). You have to sharpen pencils. You have to get a drink. You have to make a call to Mom. Oops! You left your eraser at the sink. You need another sheet of paper. You need an old assignment from the bin. "I THINK I finished that one. Can I see if I turned it in?" You need to take your Library book to the Media Center and make a trade. At least five times you have to come to my desk and ask "Is this a grade?" You have to get a drink again, followed shortly by another bathroom break. Then, it's back to the pencil sharpener (what are you doing with them for heaven's sake?) You always seem to think you deserve time on the playground. Let's not forget the constant trips to the nurse or lost and found. With all of these vital activities, it's a wonder you have time to ever do the Morning Work and read my silly rhymes. But if there isn't enough time to do your school work, have no fear. You can always finish up this work when you're in fifth grade again next year!
