You don't practice for a marathon by only running sprints.

You don't prepare for a hot-dog eating contest by eating only mints.

Basketball players play hours and hours of basketball to get ready for the big game.

They might like to play soccer or Scrabble, but it wouldn't be the same.

To ensure that a person is ready for a big event.

They practice and practice and practice some more and they give 100%.

Students are no different, so to make sure you are prepared,

We'll practice the FCAT today (relax, no need to be scared!)

But first, we have our Morning Work, and an extra job to do.

Compare your answers on Frindle to the ones I've done for you.

Then, you will have practice, to give you the knowledge and power,

to do your best (and to make sure you can sit still for an hour!).
