I received a phone call yesterday, sometime during dinner.

I assumed it was a telemarketer, telling me I'm a winner

of dance lessons, or a "diamond" ring or some other useless stuff.

But it was the Superintendent, telling us how to prepare for weather that is rough.

We are going to have a tornado drill; an exercise in being prepared.

Because if you know what to do in an emergency, no one will be scared.

There are some people who don't prepare. I just feel sorry for them.

They're the ones that spin wildly in circles, screaming "It's a twister, Auntie Em!"

But we'll go over our procedures this morning, and drill again Wednesday.

And then we will know what to do, if foul weather heads our way.

An quick analogy comes to mind - a storm is like the FCAT test.

Tomorrow's drill is like your Morning Work - it prepares you to do your best.

The key to both is simply do what you know you're supposed to do.

If you're prepared, no storm, NO test (or flying monkeys) will bother you.
