It's a day you've looked forward to all this year.

Over the next few weeks you'll see

a lot of "final" things from me.

You've already had your last long weekend; no more three-day breaks.

It won't be long before you have the last recess you get to take.

The last Spelling test, the final quiz, all are just ahead.

Soon, instead of schoolwork, you'll be playing outside instead.

But, there's plenty of things to do. The end is not here, yet, you know.

You can't quit running in a race, when there's another lap to go!

But the finish line approaches. You have it in your sight.

And you won't quit until the end, although others might.

You may not have heard my last lecture; My last yelling fit.

But, sooner or later, I expect we'll get to it.

Because I know you're tempted, to start vacation now.

But, for your own sake, resist that urge, somehow.

You'll keep working until the end of May, because it's the right thing to do.

But there is another reason; if you don't, my final yell will be at you!
