Take a gander at the calendar. Be sure to check your clocks.

Today is "Sock It To Books Day." Did you wear your mismatched socks?

It was difficult for me to choose; It had to be just so.

I opened up my sock drawer - Oh man! So many ways to go.

I started with one tube sock. All straight and pulled up tight.

One leg looked exactly like my wife's old buddy, Dwight!

The other foot took an older sock. All stretched and loose, not neat.

You don't know who I'm talking about, but it looked like Pistol Pete's!

Then I tried a Batman sock, with a Superman on the right.

Both feet went in different ways, looking for evil shoes to fight!

The next attempt was one new sock the other sock was lowly.

I call that one my Sunday sock because it's very hole-y.

I tried to walk around that way, but let me tell you, mister

that didn't work very well at all. One foot now has a blister!

Red and green, too Christmas-y. Brown and black, too bland.

I even tried a sock on my right foot another on my hand!

In the end, I just closed my eyes and grabbed. I let random chance decide.

So, if my socks don't measure up - well, at least I tried.

I did add one little twist, a clever one I think.

I took one odor eater out, so only one foot will stink!

Even though our socks don't match, I know of one pair that does.

This pair goes together like a honeybee and its buzz.

Grammar Giggles and Morning Math, they go together well.

But as you work, stay to my right. The left foot is the one that smells!
