I like a cup of coffee, when I start my day.

Other folks are different; they begin another way.

Some need a little breakfast. Others exercise.

Some poor souls need a cigarette before morning light can touch their eyes.

Many want a nice, hot shower. Without it they're just grumps.

A few may need an ice cold shower, or they'll be in the dumps.

Some may read the paper, or watch the morning news.

Some can't get out of bed at all and keep hitting that old snooze.

There is a group of people that need a different kick.

Without it they just don't feel right, they feel a little sick.

Their whole day is a little off, if they don't start with what they need.

On the mornings they don't get it, they're a surly bunch, indeed.

Who is this pack of people? What do they crave so much?

It's Mr. Mac's class and Morning Work is their crutch.

Without Grammar Giggles, they're groggy, they're sleepy, and they're dull.

Without Morning Math it's a little like they have cobwebs in their skulls!

Morning Work is their pick-me-up; it really makes them go.

And now that I have given it to them, I can have another cup of joe.
