I've changed my name to better reflect how I feel today.

My new name is still alliterative, but "Mr. Mac" has gone away.

Mr. Mucus is my new name. It's gross but it is true.

My body's overrun by cold germs. They fill me through and through.

My sinuses are full of snot, but as my Dad once said

At least there's finally something inside this hollow head!

I'm coughing and I'm wheezing as my lungs fill up with phlegm.

And all the students run away, so I won't sneeze on them.

Tears are welling in my eyes, and not because I'm sad.

My medicine's not working and I'm feeling pretty bad.

I sneeze and then I sniffle and then I blow my nose.

I don't know where all this stuff comes from, but I sure know where it goes!

A pile of tissues at my feet and overflowing the trashcan

is evidence that Mr. Mac is one cold-ridden man.

I mean, Mr. Mucus. But JUST FOR TODAY!

'Cause colds aren't like your Morning Work. They eventually go away.

No matter how poorly I might feel. Even if I'm racked with pain.

I managed to make some Morning Math for you to do again.

Between my coughing and my sneezing, I made Grammar Giggles, too.

It's not just germs but work as well, that I throw a . . a . . at . . choo!!
