The students were all shivering at the bus stop, their jackets and their sweaters buttoned tight. What could be the cause of their discomfort? It got a little chilly here last night. Stocking caps and mittens came out of mothballs. Parkas were dug out to fight the freeze. How will all the Florida kids survive this? After all, it dropped below seventy degrees! Toughen up you wimps! It's not that cold out. It's brisk. It's not cold, it's cool. You want to hear about cold weather? Let me tell you about winter when I was in school. It was so cold, the fire froze on the candles. We had to bury them to make it dark enough to sleep. The sound would freeze coming out of birdies. Their beaks would move, but you couldn't hear the "Cheep!" Months later, the noise was almost deafening. Suddenly you could hear them all. The birds had been gone an awfully long time, but Spring allowed their frozen songs to thaw! But, if you are cold and you're chilly (and even if you are not). I've got something to warm you. Morning Math and Grammar Giggles , aren't they hot? Speaking of hot, did I tell you about my friend Farmer Greg? One Summer, back in Nebraska, his chickens all laid hard-boiled eggs!
