I had no meetings this morning! I wasn't quite sure what to do.

At first, I thought I would spend my time making up more work for you!

You know the drill; a test or two, read a few pages, and more.

But then, as I was walking along I saw a strange sight on the floor.

A bug had somehow wandered in and was lying flat on his back.

His little legs were flailing away, like he was having some sort of attack.

As I watched him struggle, I couldn't help thinking of you,

working away on your homework, doing everything I give to you.

I thought to myself "Maybe they need a break, just like this little bug."

"Maybe instead of all the yelling and work, they need kind words and a hug."

"Maybe I am a nice guy, after all," I thought. And then I started to grin.

As his little bug body squished under my foot, I thought about you again.

So, while you're doing Grammar Giggles and Morning Math, do the best you can do.

Oh, by the way, I used one of your chairs to scrape the bug off of my shoe.
