I had another meeting this morning! You know what I'm going to do?

I'm going to gather up all my frustrations and take them out on you!

It may not seem very fair, but, I'll tell you, here's the thing;

as a very famous man once said "It's good to be the king!"

It's like you are the colonists and I'm King George III.

You MUST do everything I say. The KING has the final word.

You must do your Morning Math. Why? Because I say!

And I may start taxing you for each and every "A."

But, even at a buck apiece, I won't earn very much.

With the way this class operates, I won't get enough for lunch!

Maybe I'll charge you to use the textbooks. Maybe a fee to use your chair.

A tax upon the bathroom (ouch) and a surcharge for the air!

I'll make you do the Grammar Giggles and charge you for it too!

I'm the KING and you are not. What ever can you do?

This is a little sample of what life was like in the colonies.

They had no voice in their government, but they had to pay the fees.

Your assignment, if you remember, is to persuade others to join your fight.

You can make a poster, a presentation, or an essay you can write.

And if you don't like this task I give, remember it could be worse.

"Get to Work! I decree!" signed

King Mr. Mac the First.
