We have some touring guests today, so keep your eyes upon the door. They are here to check on us. Here's what they're looking for: Untied shoes and messy hair. Homework that isn't done. Students must be working hard and no one can have fun. We'll lose three points for every smile, on their grading scale. But the cafeteria will gain FIVE POINTS, if they serve you bread that's stale. Grumpy teachers are a plus, so we should do quite well! And if anyone starts to enjoy themselves, whatever you do, DON'T TELL! They believe schools should be a gloomy place. Quite frankly, I agree. Which is why you never see a smile come over me. Schools should be like dungeons; full of dark and gloom. So they should be quite satisfied when they walk into our room. In truth, they will not be here long and they're here to check on me (and all the other teachers), but I don't care about what they see. I know my class does very well and in the future you'll do more. Just remember how to behave when there's strangers at our door. Do your Grammar Giggles and Morning Math and let the visitors be. You shouldn't worry about what others think - it doesn't bother me!
