Sit right back, and you'll read a tale. A tale that is not dull.

A tale of two explorers, from a land called Portugal.

The first was Bartholomew Dias, in 1488.

Caught in a storm, by accident, he accomplished something great.

For 13 days, his ship was tossed. And turned every which way.

It was so bad he decided to sail home on the 14th day.

He turned around and headed North, expecting Africa on his right.

But his lookouts spotted land elsewhere, which to them was quite a sight!

Africa was on the left! They all knew what this meant.

They traveled by ship, all the way around the continent!

They went back home with exciting news. The crew was filled with glee!

Vasco de Gama later finished the task and sailed to India, by sea!

An all-water route to India had, finally, been found.

The world would never be the same, 'cause these two guys were around.

Now, I admit I've never done anything quite so grand.

I haven't sailed the seven seas, or discovered faraway lands.

But I've discovered Grammar Giggles. Morning Math I've also found.

And your class wouldn't be the same, without THESE two around!

So, there's the tale. It may be strange. But more importantly, it's true.

And you all can be quite thankful, I didn't sing it to you!
