You've been in school nearly two whole weeks, so let's do a quick checklist. To make sure we've done everything - that there's nothing that we missed. You've gotten back your handhelds, received your textbooks, too. We went over the new Dress Code and done our Rules Review. You've read and written and drawn and talked; communicated in every way. But it felt like we've forgotten something when I woke up today. What could it be? What DO kids want to do their very best? Oh! I know! You haven't taken nearly enough tests! Let's rectify that problem. I have the remedy. You'll feel better when you're tested more. Just you wait and see. The first Math test is tomorrow, so to make sure you're prepared, go over your homework in your group and see how well you fared. There's a Spelling test tomorrow, too. In case you haven't heard. Take some time with a partner and study every word. Of course, there's always Morning Math and Grammar Giggles, too. 'Cause even though tests are fun, no Morning Work would make you blue. Now, I think we've done it all. And from now until school ends I make this promise; I'll never forget to give you tests again! |
