Let's talk about your homework. I really think we should,

'Cause when it isn't finished, that really isn't good.

You WILL lose your recess, which may even make you cry!

So, ALWAYS do your homework. Here's other reasons why.

Everyone needs practice. In school and at home.

Even if you know the work in class, can you do it on your own?

It's easy doing work in class, there's help when you're confused;

Other students, Mr. Mac, anyone you choose!

Homework, however, is different. You're probably all alone.

It's your chance to show you can do all the things you're shown.

Another reason to do your work, both in and out of school

is really very simple; you do 'cause it's a rule!

Now, if you do not understand , that's a very different story.

Just try your best, do what you can, tell me, and don't worry.

Because that's the point of homework, to make sure you understand.

And if you don't, that's why I'm here. To give a helping hand.

So, check your work this morning with the people you sit near.

And then you can begin the work all of you hold dear.
