We all set our clocks ahead by one hour, and it's starting to really get me!

I'm supposed to get up and go off to school, but I want to stay in and sleep.

Maybe because it's darker now, in the morning when I awake,

whatever the reasons, I tell you right now, there's not much more I can take.

I'm still sleepy when I take my shower. I'm still tired when I brush my teeth.

I'm so groggy eating my breakfast, my Rice Krispies go "snooze, grumble, zzzzzz.

My coffee isn't helping. Nor cold water on my face.

I have to do something about this! I have to pick up my pace!

My students are all sleepy, too! They need to wake up, that's for sure.

A little dose of Morning Work might be just the right cure.

Language work to open their eyes. Social Studies to make them wake.

Math problems will invigorate them, like a jump in an ice cold lake.

Who could be sleepy when there's Science to do? Reading they all think is grand.

Yes, I'm sure the Morning Work will bring students back from Dreamland.

But what about sleepy and tired Mr. Mac? He's having trouble waking, too!

Well, we all know what's going to perk him right up; he'll soon start yelling at you!
