I know that deep down in your hearts, there's something you want to know. "When students are not here in school, where do the teachers go?" "Do they go to real long meetings or sneak out for a walk?" "Do they work on student papers, or do they sit around and talk?" Well, it is POSSIBLE some teachers may do some of these. But the things Mr. Mac does, you are not going to believe! He rummages through each and every desk, and plays with all your stuff. He erases things from papers (and later yells "You didn't write enough!") He underlines wrong answers and "dog-ears" pages in your books. Just so he can, later on, give you one of his nasty looks. He stages epic battles with his plastic Super Friends. He chews on all your pencils, and bites the erasers off the ends. He eats candy all day long, he puts your crayons in his ears. He digs all through the trash can, looking for souvenirs. He plays his music VERY loud and dances around the room. He pretends he's Harry Potter and runs down hallways with a broom. He practices his yelling and breaks the feet off the legs of chairs. Sometimes he sits in the middle of the room, for hours, and just stares. He picks his nose, but I just can't say what he does with it. But if I were you, I'd be careful, and watch out where you sit. Of all these things, what Mr. Mac's favorite thing to do? It's making up more questions for the Morning Work. For you. He created a Social Studies question about our government. In Math, he made fractions; you make their equivalent. He made a Science question about the health of our wetlands. The Spelling list has 20 words, with "schwa -l" at their ends. He's given you some Reading work. Go ahead and take a look. And his usual reminder about Young Authors' books. All the things I said before, he did not do most of those. Except for one. You know which one. The one about his nose. |
